I hope you enjoy my “Intel Outside” StartupScreen. Actually, the idea of the revised logo was not mine; it was spotted in the form of a sticker on some Macs at a MacWorld expo a while back. Recently, someone was asking for help changing his ”Welcome to Macintosh” box so it has this very theme. A short time later it occurred to me that this would be a good idea for a StartupScreen so I got to work scanning and retouching and the rest, as they say, is history. The background, by the way, is an image of the Motorola 68020 processor. It’s the most current such image I could find without any writing on it. If you have a processor image that’s more current or better looking, feel free to send it to me and maybe I can improve on this first attempt at the screen.
